Mahindra XUV700 price to start at Rs 22 lakh, launch date confirmed at 9th OctoberSeptember 9, 2018
Taking the success of the XUV500 further, Mahindra is all set to launch the bigger XUV700 on 9th October. Incidentally, this is also the date when Honda will launch the all-new CR-V in India. The XUV700 is based on the current generation Ssangyong G4 Rexton but learning from their past failure with Ssangyong in India, Mahindra is sticking to the XUV moniker on this one.
Priced from Rs 22 lakh onwards, the XUV700 will undercut the Fortuner and Endeavour by around Rs 4 lakh which also being cheaper than the Isuzu mu-X SUV. For the uninitiated, the XUV700 had made its public debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. Mahindra has been testing the car extensively on Indian roads and it will get India specific suspension and handling characteristics.
The XUV700 will get a 2.2-litre turbo diesel with 187 bhp of power and 420 Nm of torque. This will be mated to a seven speed torque convertor (automatic) and AWD will be offered on the higher versions. In terms of features, it will come with projector headlamps, a 9.2-inch HD touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, a 7.0-inch LCD instrument cluster, cooled seats, Nappa leather upholstery and a smart tailgate in addition to other aids.
