Mercedes-Benz E Class gets updates in India, priced from Rs 58.83 lakhSeptember 10, 2018
As per a report on Autocar, Mercedes-Benz has made a few changes (for the good) to their best seller, the E Class LWB or long wheelbase version for the Indian market. This current generation model was launched last year and now gets added features. Prices start at Rs 58.83 lakh for the E200 version, going up to Rs 72.85 lakh for the E350d version. The E200 and E220d see a price hike of Rs 22k and Rs 19k respectively.
So what has changed in this update? The E Class now gets automatic soft-door closing ability, similar to the same tech found in the S Class. Rear-seat passengers also get dedicated cup holders now, with the rear extended section of the front centre armrest getting two cupholders. Next is the S Class borrowed steering wheel though it does not come with autonomous abilities like lane-keeping assist, auto braking etc.
There is no changes to the outside of the Mercedes-Benz E Class, but that said, the cabin now gets a mild change of a wood trim finish on the lower part of the front console and around the rear centre arm rest.
Prices, as per AutoCar, have been mildly revised with the E200 expected to be priced at Rs 58.83 lakh – approximately Rs 22,000 over the MY18 car. The E220d will be priced at Rs 59.83 lakh – an increase of approximately Rs 19,000. Prices for the E 350d remain the same, at Rs 72.85 lakh.
