Nissan Kicks India price to start at Rs 9.9 lakh, will not undercut Hyundai CretaSeptember 10, 2018
Nissan is gearing up to the launch the Kicks SUV in India early next year. This will not be the same model sold internationally as India specific changes will be made in the vehicle, including altered suspension and power-train options. The big news is that Nissan Kicks will come with a price of under 10 lakh rupees.
A rival to the Hyundai Creta, the Kicsk SUV will not under-cut in terms of pricing but will be positioned as a premium compact SUV. The Kicks will get two engine options, a 1.-5-litre petrol mated to a manual and an CVT auto box as well as a 1.5-litre diesel, again mated to a manual as well as an AMT gearbox. These are the same options seen on the Renault-Nissan family of cars in India.
The Kicks will eat into the sales of the Terrano but will end up creating its own niche. Large cross-overs or Pseudo SUVs are the flavour of the season and Nissan understand this very well. The Kicks will not only compete with the Hyundai Creta, but will also challenge the Renault Captur and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Our media friends are due to drive the Kicks in Dubai later this month.
