Renault-Nissan employees steal two Duster SUVs, right from the plant!September 16, 2018
Right out of a Bollywood flick this : two workers, employees of Renault-Nissan joint venture, came up with a perfect plan to steal two brand new Duster SUVs to make a quick buck. Technicians P Marimuthu alias Mohamed Asharaf and M Arun Kumar hatched a plan and pulled it off successfully way back in January 2018.
The two employees had access to the parking area where fresh cars are usually parked. They entered the campus in two old cars and used number plates of these units for driving the fresh cars out. Guards at the post only check for registration number and this helped the duo in escaping with new Dusters worth Rs 25 lakh.
Later on, they even managed to sell on of the two cars, for Rs 6 lakh, to an unsuspecting customer. The second car was still on sale. The theft came to light on 22nd January and as per reports, the cars were last reported to be parked on 7th January 2018. Duster sales have come down drastically in India and the latest incident will add to the blow in our opinion!
